Wedding Day Content Creation at Stunning St. Pete Beach Florida Wedding

Let me take you back to 2022, the start of my wedding day content creation career...but I didn't even know it. Let me explain!

Charlie and I were in St. Pete for our college friend's wedding. Payton, Charlie and I spent a lot of time together in college because we all majored in Media Studies. She and I worked very closely on our college news station together, and I so value our friendship! When Payton and Daniel decided to get married in Florida, there was no question we wouldn't miss it!

Charlie and I were so excited for a beach vacation and wedding -- we'd never been to a beach wedding before! And while we were packing, we of course debated bringing our camera gear, as videographers do. We ultimately decided to keep it at home and just enjoy ourselves. We had the best time with our friends leading up to the wedding!

The night before, we learned that Payton didn't hire a videographer. Of course I was kicking myself for not bringing our camera gear!! However, Charlie and I decided we would capture as much of the day as possible on our phones. We always say - the best camera is the one you have!

The morning of the wedding, I joined Payton and her bridesmaids in the suite as they got ready. There was such a chill vibe! Payton's Mom did her hair (she's a talented hairdresser!) and her bridesmaids were steaming her dress. It was so sweet! I got some shots of hair and makeup getting done, as well as some detail shots.

Throughout the day, we captured the scenery of the venue and snagged some shots of the couple as they walked around the resort taking pictures. During the ceremony, we captured the big moments from our seats - Payton walking down the aisle, the kiss, and their exit with guests tossing flower petals. We weren't actual vendors, so we didn't want to get in the way of the people who were paid to be there. We were truly just capturing the day from the eyes of two guests!

We got detail shots during the reception, filmed the dances and speeches, and had an absolute blast filming the dancing all night long. To this day, this wedding was one of the best ones we've attended! There was so much love and joy in the room and Payton and Daniel's different friends blended so well. That's definitely a benefit to having a destination wedding - we all had time to get to know each other leading up to the big day! During the reception, Payton changed into the cutest reception dress. It was a mini white dress with small blue floral details, and white sneakers. It fit the vibe of the venue so well!

For most of the day, we decided to shoot the footage with a VHS app on our phones. It shoots everything with that old VHS tape feel, and gives you the option to zoom in and out easily. This look really complimented the beach-style wedding and we absolutely love how the footage turned out. We gave all of the raw footage to Payton and Daniel and created a recap video for them, which you can view below.

I didn't know it at the time, but this was the start of my passion for wedding day content creation. I wholeheartedly believe these moments should be captured for couples so they can look back on them. Weddings are unique in that they bring together so many different people in your life, people who would never typically be together in one room. It deserves to be documented!

While we enjoy shooting wedding videos with our "professional cameras", content creation is another valuable way to document a wedding day. It's a great addition to photography and videography, or it can be a substitute for couples who can't afford or don't align with wedding videography. We are so excited to offer this service and look forward to documenting many more weddings through content creation. Reach out to us today for more information!
